We are a brand new church plant for Barry
GodFirst Barry started in our homes in Jan 2019, with 6 adults and 6 children eating food together and seeking the Lord for Barry. We are currently meeting as a growing group living out our values and developing a discipling culture. Please look at the other sections of the site to find out more about our vision, beliefs and values.
Rhys & Rachel Gronow
Rhys and Rachel have a heart for Jesus, their children, people, fun and life! They have two young boys, Elliot and Jude. Although Rhys grew up in Barry, he moved away when he was aged 18 to join a discipleship programme at Trinity Church, Cheltenham. After completing an internship at Trinity he later joined a church plant at St Paul's Church, Cheltenham where he met Rachel. As well as spending eight years at St Paul's, Rhys also attended Westminster Theology College for two years and served as an Assistant Chaplain at the University of Gloucestershire for three years. Rachel is a primary school teacher but she is mainly a passionate worshipper and strategic thinker around mission. Rhys will serve as the lead pastor and Rachel will serve on the church strategic & operational team.

Nathan and Sue moved back to the Vale, to Barry in 2014 with a call to preach the Gospel from Romans 10. They have three daughters Grace, Evie and Anwen and love hosting community in their home. They have previously been part of a Church plant in the Valleys of South Wales. Nath has a degree in Theology from Wales Evangelical School of Theology and has a passion for evangelism and teaching. Previously working for Porterbrook Network, Christians Against Poverty, Union School of Theology and Ignite, Nath now serves the church as a fellow leader whilst Sue, who works in the Millennium Centre and loves photography, will be involved in church administration and social media.
